SharePoint and Power Apps implementation to address document management, workflow automation

The Company

The client is a medium-sized law firm with offices located in multiple cities across the United States. The firm employs over 200 attorneys and support staff, they were using manual processes for case management. The firm’s management recognized that this was leading to inefficiencies and difficulties in collaboration and communication.

The Challenge

The law firm was using manual processes for case management, which is time-consuming and prone to errors. They were looking for a solution that can help them streamline their processes and improve their efficiency.

The Solution

The law firm decides to implement Power Apps, a low-code development platform offered by Microsoft. They were looking for a Microsoft Gold Partner with experience in Power Apps to build custom apps that can help them automate their processes and improve their case management.

AQL is a Microsoft Gold Partner with over a decade of experience in Power Platform. Our Power Platform experts conducted a thorough assessment of client needs and built custom applications to help them overcome their challenges.

Client Intake App: The law firm’s first app is a client intake app that helps them capture client information quickly and accurately. The app includes fields for client name, address, contact information, and case details. The app also includes a workflow that automatically sends an email to the relevant attorney and paralegal, notifying them of the new client and case.

Case Management App: The law firm’s second app is a case management app that helps them track the progress of their cases. The app includes fields for case details, deadlines, tasks, and documents. The app also includes a workflow that notifies the relevant attorney and paralegal of upcoming deadlines and tasks.

Time Tracking App: The law firm’s third app is a time tracking app that helps them track the time spent on each case. The app includes fields for the date, case name, task description, and time spent. The app also includes a workflow that automatically generates an invoice based on the time spent on each case.

The Results

After implementing Power Apps, the law firm has seen significant improvements in their efficiency and productivity. The custom apps have helped them automate their processes and reduce manual errors. The firm also sees a reduction in the time spent on administrative tasks, which allows them to focus more on their clients and cases.

Additionally, the firm’s employees appreciate the ease of use of the apps, and the ability to access case details from anywhere, anytime. The firm also benefits from the low-code development platform, as they can easily modify and update their apps to meet their changing needs.
