The Company

The client is a is a third-party logistics (3PL) company based in the United States that provides transportation, warehousing, and supply chain management services to clients across multiple industries. The company has been in operation for over 25 years and has a reputation for providing reliable and cost-effective logistics solutions.

The Challenge

The client regularly deals with a large last-mile delivery operation and wanted to improve their efficiency and customer experience. They were looking for Microsoft Gold Partner with expertise in Power Platform, especially Power Pages to develop a Power Pages solution that can optimize delivery routes, provide real-time updates to customers, and enable delivery personnel to capture proof of delivery.

The Solution

To address the problem, our team of Power Platform experts proposed developing a Power Pages solution using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.  

The Power Pages solution consists of features that will help clients overcome their challenges. 

Route optimization: The Power Pages solution optimizes delivery routes using Microsoft Power Automate and Azure Maps. The solution considers factors like traffic, weather, and delivery priority to generate the most efficient route for each delivery personnel. 

Real-time updates: The Power Pages solution provides real-time updates to customers on the status of their deliveries. Customers will receive alerts via email or SMS when their delivery is dispatched, en route, or delivered. 

Proof of delivery: The Power Pages solution enables delivery personnel to capture proof of delivery with the mobile app built using Power Apps. The app will allow delivery personnel to scan barcodes, take photos, and capture signatures, ensuring accurate & timely proof of delivery. 

Analytics dashboard: The Power Pages solution will provide a centralized analytics dashboard using Microsoft Power BI, allowing the client to monitor key performance indicators, identify bottlenecks in the delivery process, and make data-driven decisions. 

To implement the solution, we used a combination of Azure services, including Azure Maps and Azure Functions. We also utilized Power Apps and Power Automate to build the user interface and workflow automation. The solution is hosted on Azure App Service, providing scalability, security, and availability.
