Our client, a manufacturing organization has office all around the world and has been expanding. Over these years this incredible organization has achieved remarkable growth, pioneered new markets and supported several social causes. As the organization grew they decided to embark on a digital journey. They were contemplating different vendors and zeroed down on AQL.
Our client had grown considerably in the past three decades. While some of their processes were well-defined there was a massive scope of improving existing systems while implementing effective digital solutions and upgrading from legacy applications build in Lotus Notes. The main business processes involved were corporate expense application, vendor management, hazmat material management, shift management applications, employee onboarding. AQL brought in their team of SharePoint specialists to adopt and implement digital work management solutions.
The first task of our SharePoint specialists was to make the client articulate the different bottlenecks and challenges that were caused by inefficient existing processes. Next, all the critical tasks were identified and the digital vision document was prepared for the various workforce-related activities. The organization communicated its digital vision of automating and streamlining their processes to higher management. Tracking, approval, and reporting were identified as the key result area that was important to the client. AQL envisioned a strategy to roll Microsoft PowerApps and Office 365 solutions.
Using Microsoft PowerApps & Power Automate, AQL’s team created a canvas app connecting to SharePoint List. These apps were mobile and cloud-ready and were convenient for employees to easily use even in a remote environment. Worth SharePoint as the backend, AQL uses the right tools for creating enterprise-level scalable applications and in turn saving licensing costs. Integrations using premium connectors were done to other lines of business apricots like Oracle financials, workday & more which seamlessly integrated with the new applications in the client’s environment. The employee information and reporting structure were queried using Microsoft Graph, allowing the employer’s critical information to be viewed and accessed without any manual entry.
Other than automating the processes, it also made several critical processes efficient, error-free, and secure. AQL finally documented the governance, best practices for proper architecture for future scaling using Office 365, SharePoint, Power platform, and enterprise licensing. Enhanced features like these introduced by AQL made the systems more quick, secure, and accurate. Dashboards and reporting tools were build using Power BI customized per the needs of different departments further enhanced the user experience.
The redesigned SharePoint-based Intranet efficiently connected all departments, employees, students, processes, and data. Since staff could now easily search for information, communicate with colleagues, and share files and updates, their problem-solving and decision-making abilities got a big boost. Data is now completely secure in the cloud and can be assessed centrally.
Thanks to numerous third-party integrations, the new solution also streamlined many business processes, which improved staff productivity and efficiency. The institution was now able to better utilize their data and systems to design better student-focused programs that enhanced their reputation as providers of quality education.
